Were It Not For Grace

What does it truly mean to be saved by grace? This message takes us deep into Ephesians chapter 2, verses 1 through 10, to wrestle with one of the most profound and liberating truths in all of Scripture. We are confronted first with an uncomfortable reality: outside of Christ, we are spiritually dead, deceived by the world around us, and headed toward judgment. There is nothing we can do on our own to bridge that gap. But then something extraordinary happens. Grace enters the picture not as a reward for our effort, but as a divine action taken entirely on our behalf. God, rich in mercy, made us alive in Christ even while we were still dead in our sin. That single word, 'made,' carries the full weight of our salvation. We did not reach up to God. He reached down to us. Understanding this distinction transforms everything about how we relate to our faith. We move from a posture of striving and earning to one of receiving and resting. The message challenges us to examine whether we are living under the heavy hand of law or in the freedom of grace, and invites us to let that grace reshape how we see ourselves, how we treat others, and how we share our faith with the world around us.
